The CSCS was set up in 1995 with the objective of helping the construction industry to get quality up, accidents down and cowboy builders out. Since then over a million cards have been issued.
The CSCS scheme provides a way of proving to employers and clients alike that the workforce they are employing is suitably trained and competent in the relevant trades.
Each employee is issued with a specific card relating to their trade/occupation. This card lists all the operatives qualifications on the back and can only be issued once a pass is obtained in the initial health and safety test.< >
